on the vote tally in arizona and senator scott brown is hinting at his political future. first as new members make their way to capitol hill, allen west continues to fight for his seat. west has now filed a complained in st. lucie county yesterday calling for a recount of all the early ballots in the race. west trails patrick murphy by 0.58% and according to state law an automatic recount is needed only when a difference in votes is 0.5% or less so not at that threshold. west told nbc, quote, i think that we need to have the electoral process play out as it should, and then wherever the results lie, that's fine with me. but i want to make sure we have honor and integrity in that process. meanwhile, on the hill yesterday democrats held a press conference to introduce incoming members of congress and the house minority leader nancy pelosi addressed murphy as congressman elect. the only nonsitting member to speak. >>> meanwhile, out in arizona there are 340,000 ballots that have yet to be counted in the senate race between richard carmona and jeff flake. carmona did concede on election night whe

in ohio, senator brown and josh mandel, and i asked senator brown point blank could he support raising the eligibility age on social security medicare and he said no. that's just not going to happen. this was a guy who just won in a swing state. how many senate democrats are in that position? we know where the president is willing to go here and it's a lot further. >> no doubt about it and some of this, as brad mentioned earlier was discussed during the debt limit negotiations last year. how many senators would be with senator brown? probably ten. the rest would have to be kicking and screaming. i think everyone understands that some of these issues have to be addressed as part of a larger agreement. you mentioned speaker boehner, the other thing to watch out for is the fact senator mcconnell, normally a kaubs, very cautious politician by nature will look over his shoulder to make sure he doesn't face a tea party challenge. all of that together, i think, makes it a toxic atmosphere and something we will have to all watch carefully. >> now you -- do you believe that the president is giv

one of its popular models. patti ann browne live in the newsroom with the details. >> toyota will recall 2.77 million vehicles worldwide including some of its popular prius hybrid cars. they say there are steering and water pump problems. it is the carmaker's second multimillion-dollar recall, vehicle recall in a little over a month. toyota says the defects have caused no accidents and can be fixed in an hour or so but this could cost hundreds of millions of dollars for toyota to repair, at least according to one auto analyst. while the recall is widespread, the flaws are considered less serious than in previous recalls in 2009 and 2011. in those, unintended acceleration problems in toyota vehicles were the suspected cause of fatal crashes in the united states. toyota this year recaptured the crown of the world's top automaker after last year's natural disasters which temporarily disrupted production in japan and thailand. this latest recall involves fixing a steering component that could be damaged by wear and tear and replacing water pumps on 630,000 gasoline electric hybri
